Encaustic painting is one of the world's oldest art forms, that has found a resurgence in popularity. It is all natural, wax-based paint composed of beeswax and resin that is warmed to a molten state. During the two-hour course you will be guided from start to finish to create a 5 x 7 mixed media encaustic piece. You will learn how to prepare the surface for wax, embed mixed media objects, add details with an encaustic pen and finish off your project with pan pastels.
