VINEYARDS

Established under the direction and vision of the late Dr. Walter Clore, Father of the Washington Wine Industry, Goose Ridge Estate Vineyard observed its first harvest in 1998. Guided by the belief that great wines begin in the vineyard, all our grapes are estate grown in Eastern Washington's sun-drenched Columbia Valley.

Sheltered from Seattle's maritime climate by the towering Cascade Mountain Range, the vineyard receives less than 8 inches of rainfall annually.   It is a gently sloped, south-facing site adjacent to Red Mountain. Long, warm summer days and cool nights produce grapes noted for their ripe, rich character.

Veteran Columbia Valley winemaker Charlie Hoppes has his pick of the vineyard. Working alongside our viticulturist, Charlie identifies his favorite blocks for preferential care throughout the growing season including careful management of crop levels for low yields and hand-pruned canopies for even ripening.
