IMPRESSIONS BY ANNE
Acrylic Painting
Color is the melody that plays throughout Anne Waters’ work. Of all the characteristics you might find in her paintings, color is the most important, she says, because it’s the means by which she reveals her mood, her responses, or what she’s feeling at that moment in time. “I love to work with a variety of subjects in a range of styles from impressionistic to abstract, and I thoroughly enjoy exploring different media and tools,” Anne adds, “but most of all I revel in experimenting with color.” In nearly every piece, she strives to express a certain energy by exaggerating a color to see if it "sings" in the painting.
Born into a family of artists, Anne gave up a business career at mid-life to embark on the more fulfilling journey of an award-winning artist. Picking up on her fine art education that began in college, Anne furthered her skills through private study with many nationally known artists, such as Jane Hofstetter, Jan Kunz, Karen Frey, and Pat Dews. Later Anne began teaching classes while living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and even organized a popular outdoor art festival called "Art in the Park" for which she received “Volunteer of the Year” award from the City of Danville.
Celebrating 15 years as an award-winning professional, Anne now has artwork included in countless private and corporate collections across the western United States. Recently, several paintings were published in Beginning Color Mixing, a Walter & Foster publication by Kimberly Adams.
Please join us in the Woodinville Tasting Room to meet Anne in person.
We will be pouring tasting flights and wine by the glass and bottle.
