SPRING BARREL DINNER 2020
Indulge in a five-course, spring adventure, celebrating the official release of Goose Ridge’s newest wine: 2013 Goose Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and 2013 Echelon (red blend).
INTRODUCING GOOSE MOUNTAIN
Both wines hailing from the highly sought after 2013 vintage. Within the Goose Ridge Estate vineyard, Goose Mountain is the location of the most unique and special vineyard blocks. Each Goose Mountain block has a unique aspect, soil type, and combination of grape clones selected specifically for the block. The blocks receive the utmost attention and are managed for low-yields through careful pruning, thinning, and irrigation practices. During harvest the fruit is handled with care and hand harvested by our skilled team before behind handed over to our winemakers where a range of fermentation styles are used to build complexity. Wines are fermented in small stainless steel and oak puncheon fermenters. Merlot and Cabernet Franc spend an average of 28 days fermenting on skins, but some lots of Cabernet Sauvignon are selected to undergo long extended macerations that can last from 150 to 200 days on skins. A careful selection of barrels allows the wines to age gracefully for 30 months before bottling. Blending is done after 18 months and the wine is returned to barrels for an additional year of aging building wines possessing a fine balance of power and elegance. ONLY 100 cases made
