An adventurous plein air painter who backpacks with his supplies to some of the most beautiful places on earth, Mark Boyle is “on a constant quest for that perfect subject to paint.” Many of Mark Boyle’s oil paintings are inspired by his own outdoor adventures – he’s a true outdoorsman, taking in nature through hiking, backpacking and fly-fishing. Living north of Seattle provides easy access to these recreational activities, and his adventures find their way onto his canvases. His friends find themselves in various scenes, depicted as gathered around campfires, or clam-digging in the twilight, or fly-fishing on some stretch of rugged mountain river.

In 2005 & 2012 Boyle was commissioned by Alaska Airlines to design a signature airplane featuring a large King Salmon across the entire fuselage. It was dubbed “Salmon-thirty-Salmon,” the most complex paint scheme flying on an airliner. He has also designed and created complex paint schemes including 8 Disney airplanes and currently works as a principal designer at Teague Associates.

Mark Boyle's work is held in many permanent art collections including The Boeing Company, Yellowstone National Park, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Bennington Center for the Arts, Evergreen Hospital, West Coast Paper Company, and the Ella Coruthers Dunnegan Gallery. Mark has won national awards and appeared in many juried exhibitions including California Art Club’s Gold Medal Exhibition, Oil Painters of America, National Park Associations "Arts for the Parks", National Museum of Wildlife Art 's "Western Visions miniature show", Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museums "Birds in Art" and "Wildlife: The Artists View" published in the Northlight Book "Best of Wildlife Art;" & "How to Paint Water and Skies" His work has also been published in American Art Collector, Southwest Art National Wildlife, Grays Sporting Journal and American Art Collector Magazines.
